Removable Dentures in Turkey
Removable dentures in Turkey are a practical choice if you have lost some or all of your teeth but want a replacement that can be taken out for cleaning and sleeping. In many cases, they can help restore chewing, speech, and facial support without the need for surgery.
We do not recommend a denture type based only on how many teeth are missing. We also look at your gums, bite, jaw shape, smile line, and how you want your teeth to feel in daily life.

Total Dentures
Total dentures are used when all teeth are missing in the upper jaw, lower jaw, or both. They help you chew, speak, smile, and support the cheeks and lips. They may suit you if your remaining teeth cannot be saved or if you need a full removable option after extractions. A good total denture should not just “fill the mouth”; it should help restore your facial features.

Traditional Partial Dentures
Traditional partial dentures are used when you still have some healthy natural teeth. They fill the empty spaces and usually attach to nearby teeth with small clasps. This may be a suitable option if you want an affordable treatment and are not ready for implants. It can also help stop nearby teeth from moving into the gaps.

Flexible Dentures
Flexible dentures in Turkey are often more comfortable than hard acrylic partial dentures. They are typically made out of nylon or a flexible thermoplastic material, so they feel lighter in the mouth. They can be a good option if you do not want visible metal clasps or if your previous dentures have caused gum soreness. Their gum-coloured base can also make them a natural option for aesthetic dentures in Turkey.

Snap-On Dentures
Snap-on dentures in Turkey are removable dentures that clip onto dental implants. They are often used when normal dentures move too much while eating, laughing, or speaking. This can be a good option if you want more stability but still want to remove your denture for cleaning. Implant-retained dentures in Turkey may also reduce the need for denture glue and make daily life feel easier.
Precision Attached Dentures
Precision attachment dentures are partial dentures with hidden connectors instead of visible hooks. They attach to prepared teeth or crowns, giving a cleaner look when you smile.
They may suit patients who want better stability than a simple partial denture, especially when back teeth are missing. This type needs careful planning, but it can feel more secure in daily use.

What Materials are Used for Dentures in Turkey?
The choice of material for your dentures is a primary factor in both the final treatment price and the longevity of your smile. Different dental materials offer various levels of durability, stain resistance, and aesthetic realism, allowing for a solution tailored to your specific clinical needs and budget.
Below are the most common materials utilized for modern prosthetics at Avangart Dental Clinic.
Acrylic Resin (PMMA):
- Description: A dental-grade plastic that serves as a highly versatile and cost-effective option for both full and partial restorations.
- Benefits: It is lightweight, easy to adjust, and available in multiple gingival shades to match natural gum tissue.
- Best For: Patients seeking an affordable, functional solution that can be easily repaired or relined if the jawbone changes shape over time.

Porcelain (Ceramic):
- Description: Long considered the “gold standard” for high end cosmetic dentures due to its exceptional translucency and gloss.
- Benefits: Porcelain teeth are highly resistant to wear and staining, maintaining their natural appearance for a longer service life than standard resins.
- Best For: Full denture sets where the highest level of aesthetic realism and structural integrity is required.

Composite Resin:
- Description: A durable polymer blend that provides a middle ground between acrylic and porcelain.
- Benefits: It offers a high level of strength and stain resistance while remaining more impact-resistant (less brittle) than pure porcelain.
- Best For: Custom dentures designed for a natural look with a balance of strength and affordability.

Flexible Thermoplastics (Nylon):
- Description: Used specifically for flexible partial dentures, these materials are metal-free and slightly translucent.
- Benefits: They adapt naturally to the contours of your mouth, reducing the risk of gum soreness or irritation.
- Best For: Patients with sensitive gums or those who prefer discreet, metal-free connectors.

Dentures Material Comparison at a Glance
| Material Type | Primary Benefit | Durability | Aesthetic Level |
|---|---|---|---|
| Acrylic Resin | Most Affordable | Moderate | Standard |
| Composite Resin | Balanced Performance | High | Advanced |
| Porcelain | Most Natural Look | Very High | Premium |
| Flexible Nylon | Maximum Comfort | Moderate | Discreet (Metal-Free) |
How Should You Properly Clean Dentures?
Remove your dentures and rinse them after each meal to remove any food particles. Clean them on a daily basis with a soft denture brush and mild soap or a denture cleaner, rather than regular toothpaste, which can scratch the surface.
When you’re not wearing your removable dentures, store them in clean water or denture solution. Also, brush your gums, tongue, palate, and any remaining natural teeth every day to reduce plaque and bad breath.

Ideal Candidate Profile
Who Removable Dentures Are Good For
Removable dentures may be right for you if you have several missing teeth, no teeth in one jaw, or teeth that are too weak to chew with comfort. They can also be a helpful short-term or long-term option after tooth extraction, while your gums are healing.
You may be suitable if your gums are healthy, your mouth is free from active infection, and you want a tooth replacement that you can remove and clean easily. Before recommending a denture, we assess your bite, gum shape, bone level, and smile expectations.
When Another Treatment May Be Better
Removable dentures may not be the best option if you want teeth that stay fixed in place all the time. In that case, permanent dentures, dental bridges, or implant-supported options may feel more natural and secure.
If you have enough bone support, we may also discuss all-on-4 dental implants in Turkey or all-on-6 dental implants. These options can offer stronger stability, especially for patients who do not want a removable denture.

Alternative Treatments of Traditional Palate Dentures in Turkey
Traditional acrylic palate dentures can work well for many patients, but they are not comfortable for everyone. Some people feel that the upper plate is bulky, affects taste, triggers a gag reflex, or moves while eating and speaking.
For many patients, dental implants can be a better alternative to a traditional palate-covering denture. Implants can support teeth without covering the entire roof of the mouth, which feels lighter, more stable, and more similar to natural teeth.
Snap-on dentures offer a balance between stability and removability. They are still removable for cleaning, but they clip onto 2 or 4 implants, so they do not shift as easily as a normal denture. This can be helpful if you are tired of denture glue or feel nervous when eating in public.
All-on-4 implants are more stable. This technique secures a full set of teeth on 4 implants, so the denture feels fixed, does not slip, and does not need a palate-covering plate. If some patients require more support, All-on-6 or full mouth implants may be recommended.
The right choice depends on your bone level, gum health, bite, and budget. During your consultation, we explain your options clearly, including denture pricing, implant costs, treatment time, and whether a removable or fixed solution is safer for your case.

How Long Does it Take to Get Dentures in Turkey?
Most patients stay in Istanbul for 5 to 7 days to get removable dentures.
Day 1: Consultation and impressions
We check your gums, bite, jaw position, and any remaining teeth. We then take impressions or digital scans to ensure that your denture is custom-made for your mouth rather than a standard shape.
Day 2: Laboratory planning
Your denture is planned with the dental laboratory. We look at tooth size, gum color, smile line, and how much support your lips and cheeks need.
Day 3: Wax try-in and bite check
You try a wax version before the final denture is made. This gives us a chance to check your smile, speech, bite, and facial support before the denture is finalized, while it is still easy to make changes.
Day 4: Final laboratory work
Once you are happy with the try-in, the final denture is made. This is where the approved shape, color, and bite are turned into your finished denture.
Day 5: Final fitting and adjustments
We fit your denture, check comfort, speech, and bite, then adjust any pressure points. Some patients may need an extra adjustment visit on Day 6 or 7, especially if their gums are sensitive or they had teeth removed before the denture was fitted.
If you need implants, snap-on dentures, or tooth extractions before dentures, your treatment timeline may be longer or may require two visits. We explain this clearly before you book your flight.

Meet Our Expert Cosmetic Dentists
Dr. Egemen Aras is a cosmetic dentist with a strong focus on prosthetic dentistry, smile design, and implant-supported restorations. A graduate of Hacettepe University Faculty of Dentistry, he has built his career around restoring both function and appearance, which is especially important for patients who want natural-looking results as well as long-term comfort.
His background combines hands-on private practice, clinic management, and several years of treating both local and international patients in health tourism dentistry before joining Avangart Clinic in 2025. That mix of experience helps him take a careful, step-by-step approach, so patients can better understand their options, whether they are planning dentures, implant restorations, or a full smile makeover.
What Happens if My Dentures Need Adjusting Back Home?
It is very normal for new dentures to need a little settling-in time. Your gums, cheeks, tongue, and bite all need to get used to the new shape in your mouth, especially if you have recently had teeth removed.
A small sore spot, slight rubbing, or speech change in the first few days does not always mean something is wrong. In many cases, a simple adjustment is enough to make the denture feel much better.
Before you leave Istanbul, we check your bite, comfort, speech, and fit. We’ll walk you through everything you need to know about wearing, taking off, cleaning, and safely storing your dentures.
After you return home, our team stays in contact for aftercare support. If you experience rubbing, looseness, or pain, we may ask you to send clear photos or videos so our dentist can assess the issue.
For minor adjustments, we may recommend that you visit a reputable local dentist or denture technician. You should never file, bend, heat, or adjust your denture yourself because this can harm the fit.
Any warranty or repair coverage is explained in your treatment plan before it begins, so you understand exactly what is included.

FAQs
Regular dentures are designed to replace missing teeth. This is also done by cosmetic dentures, but they also take into account the look of your smile, the support your lips have, and how natural-looking your teeth are when you talk or laugh.
We consider factors such as tooth shade, tooth shape, gum color, bite, and facial balance. The aim is to create a denture that looks natural, feels balanced, and suits your face.
Cosmetic dentures may be a good choice if you have missing teeth and want a removable option that looks more natural than basic dentures. They can also be a good choice if your current dentures look worn out, feel loose, or aren't providing the support your face needs anymore.
They may not be the right choice if you want teeth that stay fixed in place and do not need to be removed. In that case, snap-on dentures, implant-supported dentures, or fixed implant bridges may feel more secure.
It is normal to experience some rubbing, mild soreness, excess saliva, or minor speech changes at first. Your mouth needs time to adjust to the new shape.
Problems are more likely if the denture does not fit well or is not cleaned properly. This can lead to sore gums, mouth ulcers, bad breath, or difficulty chewing, which is why careful bite checks, try-ins, and adjustments are so important.
Dentures alone should not cause bleeding. If you had teeth removed before your dentures were fitted, light bleeding or slightly pink saliva can be normal during the first 24 hours.
If the bleeding is heavy, does not stop as expected, or starts again after it has stopped, you should see a dentist. You should also contact your clinic if the denture rubs on one area and causes the gum to bleed.
Swelling is not usually caused by the denture itself. It is more common if you had extractions, implant placement, or other dental work before the denture was fitted.
Mild swelling can be part of normal healing, but it should improve day by day. If swelling gets worse, feels hot, causes severe pain, or comes with a bad taste or fever, you should contact a dentist as soon as possible.
Most removable dentures should be taken out before you sleep. Your gums need a break, and sleeping with dentures every night can lead to soreness, bad breath, and a higher risk of infection.
There is one exception. If you have just had teeth removed, your dentist may ask you to wear your denture overnight at first to protect the area. After that, you will usually be told to remove it at night and keep it in clean water or a denture solution.
Allergic reactions to cosmetic dentures are not common, but they are possible. Some patients may be sensitive to acrylic, metal clasps, pigments, or other materials used in the denture.
Please tell us before treatment if you have any known allergies to metals, plastics, or dental materials. If your mouth feels like it is burning, swollen, very red, or itchy after wearing your denture, stop using it and contact your dentist.
You may notice a little change in your speech in the first few days. This is normal; your tongue, lips, and cheeks will need time to get used to the new shape in your mouth.
With practice, most patients adapt fairly quickly. Practice reading aloud at home. Read slowly. If your speech still seems difficult after the settling-in period, a small adjustment to the denture may be needed.
It is best to avoid smoking on the day of your procedure, particularly if you have had tooth extractions, gum treatment, or implants. Smoking can slow healing, increase the risk of bleeding, and irritate sores.
If you smoke, please tell us before treatment. We will guide you based on your treatment and how well your mouth is healing.
Well-made cosmetic dentures should not look obvious. The goal is to match the tooth shape, shade, gum color, bite, and facial support so that your smile appears natural.
People may notice that your smile is brighter or fuller, but they should not be able to tell you're wearing dentures. The final result is determined by the type of denture, material, fit, and the amount of natural gum and bone support you have.
Start with soft foods and take small bites while your mouth adjusts. Foods like soup, eggs, yogurt, pasta, fish, and soft vegetables are easier in the first few days.
Avoid very hard, sticky, or chewy foods until you feel confident with your bite. Also, be careful with very hot drinks, as dentures do not sense heat the same way natural teeth do.
A fever is not expected after simply fitting cosmetic dentures. If you only had impressions, try-ins, and a final denture fitting, you should not develop a fever from the denture itself.
If you had tooth extractions, implants, or gum treatment, a mild temperature can sometimes happen while your body heals. However, a high fever, chills, worsening pain, swelling, bad taste, or pus may indicate an infection and should be seen by a dentist as soon as possible.
Cosmetic dentures replace missing teeth with a custom-made denture that is designed to fit your mouth and support your smile. The denture process usually starts before you travel, with an online review of your photos, X-rays, and dental history.
When you arrive in Turkey, we check your mouth, take impressions or digital scans, and record how your bite comes together. You then try a wax version first, so we can check the smile, tooth color, bite, and comfort before the final denture is made.
For normal denture impressions, bite checks, and fittings, anesthesia is usually not needed because these steps are not painful. You may only feel pressure or mild discomfort while we check the fit.
Local anesthesia may be used if you need tooth extractions, gum treatment, or implant placement before your denture is made. For nervous patients or longer procedures, sedation options may be discussed after reviewing your health history.
